Responsibilities
Troubleshoots, maintenance, care and cleanliness of departmental equipment
Ensures that equipment is functioning properly within the Surgical Services department. If unable to resolve equipment issues, then notifies the appropriate personnel and/or departments to have equipment removed and/or repaired
Maintains awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damage or harm to personnel or patients
Communicates with staff and leadership when equipment is out of service
Assists support staff as needed to meet patient care needs (i.e. assists with moving and transporting patients, room turnover, etc.)
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
Provides orientation to all new employees on surgical equipment, to include but not limited to: beds, frames, video equipment and electrosurgical machines
Performs minor adjustments and repairs to equipment as needed
Completes special projects and assigned tasks as requested
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification
Preferred
One (1) year O.R. experience preferred
Knowledge of proper operation and minor maintenance of O.R. equipment
