Postdoctoral Researcher
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Lab of Dr. Prashant Rajbhandari within the Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism Institute. The role focuses on studying immune cell regulation of lipid metabolism and other related topics using advanced techniques in immunology and molecular biology.
Responsibilities
Advanced skills in Immune Biology techniques
Advanced skills in cell culture, FACS, cell biology, protein biochemistry, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, mRNA in situ hybridization, confocal imaging, cell culture, etc
Advanced skills in mouse models
Mammalian cell culture techniques
Animal handling, colony management, and genotyping
Eager to learn new techniques, operate and manage lab equipment, and mentor junior trainee
Next gen sequencing, sRNA-Seq expertise is not required but preferred
Design and conduct experiments in immunology, molecular and cellular biology, protein biochemistry, and related areas
Work with cell culture systems to study cellular processes and protein function
Utilize animal models to investigate biological mechanisms and validate experimental findings
Analyze and interpret data, and present findings at lab meetings and conferences
Collaborate with other team members to achieve research goals
Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
Qualification
Required
Strong background in immunology and molecular and cellular biology
Strong experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques
Proficiency in FACS, cell and molecular biology, protein biochemistry
Experience with cell culture and animal models
Eager to learn new techniques, operate and manage lab equipment, and mentor junior trainee
Advanced skills in Immune Biology techniques
Advanced skills in cell culture, FACS, cell biology, protein biochemistry, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, mRNA in situ hybridization, confocal imaging, cell culture, etc
Advanced skills in mouse models
Mammalian cell culture techniques

Not more than 0-1 years of postdoctoral research experience
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred
Experience in immunometabolism
Next gen sequencing, sRNA-Seq expertise
Advanced skill in immunometabolism and adipose biology
Advanced intracellular signaling pathways
Advanced flow cytometry, cell sorting
Experience with adeno-, lenti-, and or AAV viral vector generation
Experience with coding languages such as R
PhD in life sciences or related field preferred
Knowledge of metabolism
