Program Manager, Marketing and Data Analytics

The Program Manager, Marketing and Data Analytics will lead marketing campaigns and manage data analytics initiatives to enhance engagement and awareness of entrepreneurship among students, faculty, and alumni.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement the annual Marketing Plan for the Institute
Develop and implement program and event-specific marketing plans focused on students, faculty, and early alumni founders, in collaboration with the Veale Institute team; track progress and provide regular updates to the team
Oversee the production and maintenance of website content, social media posts, email campaigns, and printed communication
Update the annual calendar as needed based on changes to priorities and/or individual programs
Lead the design and implementation of the Veale Institute editorial calendar, including data analytics for continuous improvement
In conjunction with Veale Institute leadership, develop program and event-specific plans focused on alumni founders, investors, and student programming; develop event-specific marketing plans aligned with Burton D Morgan's LaunchNET program
Advise and mentor Veale Institute student interns to help capture content, manage newsletters, post to social media, promote events, and facilitate storytelling
Collaborate with marketing consultants hired by Veale Institute to capture feature stories for Case Western Reserve University Newsroom and The Daily
Strategically design, develop, and maintain the Veale Institute's CRM (currently AirTable) to track engagement
Benchmark with peer institutions to explore emerging trends and best practices; this includes participating In Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) annual conferences in addition to traveling to specific universities
Design and routinely implement surveys to capture customer and stakeholder feedback
Develop reports and presentations to convey measurable impact to internal and external stakeholders, including key donors
Identify and develop measurable growth outcomes by analyzing campaign data to determine effectiveness and opportunities to enhance results
Analyze and compare performance against other university centers and institutes
Identify and share operational best practices for data management
Advise and mentor student intern(s), hired by Veale Institute, to help capture content, organize data, and build out dashboards or additional program bases
Develop and implement project plans for CES, SXSW, and other tradeshows as assigned
Planning includes booth design, show content, and marketing campaigns (pre- and post-show)
In collaboration with the Veale Institute team, secure space and required services as supported by the budget; secure Case Western Reserve University startups as exhibitors and encourage attendance with alumni
Partner with University Marketing and Communications on social media highlights from the tradeshow
Develop and maintain a highly collaborative relationship with University Marketing and Communications
Secure required training or certifications on University Marketing and Communications systems, policies, and processes to ensure cohesive partnership with University Marketing and Communications staff across campus
Attend select University Marketing and Communications meetings (e.g. Lunch and Learns), contribute content, and provide additional support when needed
Ensure the Veale Institute team is aware of and following University Marketing and Communications protocols for marketing and communications; capture and share best practices

Required

3 years of marketing communications and data analytics experience, preferably including time within higher education settings or with startups using content management systems
A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, data analytics, or a related discipline
Demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex projects, ideally marketing and communications campaigns
Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data from multiple sources (social analytics, web analytics, CRM/EMS systems) to inform decision-making and optimize campaigns
Strong critical-thinking skills and comfort interpreting metrics related to marketing performance, program impact, and audience behavior
Demonstrated knowledge of digital communication mediums, including social media, newsletters, websites, etc., with experience in improving brand awareness and recognition
Ability to write quickly and well with a mastery of a variety of prose styles, including writing for the web
Experience with and willingness to utilize generative AI platforms for content generation and to complement benchmarking efforts
Understanding of the written and visual elements and structure of effective presentations, whether with visual aids (e.g., PowerPoint, Canva, or other formats) or without, and ability to prepare such presentations quickly and well
Ability to translate complex topics in ways that engage, inform, and inspire
Ability to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, cultures, and populations, including executives, researchers, academics, students, community members, and policy makers
Ability to represent Case Western Reserve University by participating in meetings, conferences, and other events
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and management skills paired with a collaborative management style and capacity to take initiative
Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards within a workplace
Ability to meet consistent attendance
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face
Enthusiasm for Cleveland, community, entrepreneurship, and people
Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest
Willingness to learn and work with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies

Preferred

An understanding of, and experience with, entrepreneurship and/or supporting entrepreneurship is preferred
Private sector experience with technology companies is also ideal
Preference for demonstrated skills with: Salesforce, MailChimp, Canva, AirTable, Tableau, SQL or similar CRM/marketing/analytics tools
