Interior Design Project Manager | Workplace
Bespoke Careers is seeking an Interior Design Project Manager to join their growing Workplace Interiors practice. The role involves leading complex commercial projects from concept through construction, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality project delivery while exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities
Develop competitive project fees aligned with defined scopes of work
Establish, manage, and adjust project schedules to ensure timely delivery
Oversee all phases of project execution, ensuring completion within budget
Anticipate, manage, and exceed client expectations through proactive communication
Lead, mentor, and support team members by defining roles, leveraging strengths, and fostering professional growth
Facilitate open dialogue around design and technical concepts to drive strong, coordinated solutions
Motivate teams to meet project goals through guidance, support, and strategic correction when needed
Direct selection of materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment
Oversee construction-phase documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and addenda
Present technical and design solutions to stakeholders confidently and clearly
Coordinate internal teams, external consultants, and additional project partners for cohesive execution
Deliver compelling presentations to clients and collaborators
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through industry networks
Foster innovation across project teams, encouraging continuous improvement and high design performance
Develop project strategies, directives, timelines, and phasing plans
Manage all elements of project documentation to produce thorough, high-quality drawing sets
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical challenges
Apply relevant industry standards and construction practices effectively
Interpret and document regulatory requirements; identify and resolve code-related issues
Lead quality assurance and quality control efforts for all project documents
Stay current with new methodologies, technologies, codes, and products
Qualification
Required
Degree from a CIDA-accredited interior design program (or equivalent)
12+ years of commercial interior design experience; workplace experience preferred
Professional registration required
Strong design portfolio demonstrating conceptual design, space planning, and detailing expertise
Proven experience developing design schemes and coordinating design teams
High commitment to QA/QC
Proficiency in Revit with strong technical understanding of how construction documents are assembled
Knowledge of constructability and the ability to align design intent with budget
Experience researching, documenting, and applying building codes
Ability to manage consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary partnerships
Interest in sustainable design practices
Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing project fees, schedules, and work plans
Proven ability to maintain strong client relationships and coordinate sub-consultants
Demonstrated success in business development, marketing participation, and client satisfaction efforts
Occasional travel may be required
