Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the delivery of Fractional CFO advisory services across the practice
Establish and maintain service standards, methodologies, and best practices for CFO-level engagements
Partner with practice leadership to evolve the Fractional CFO service model, pricing, and engagement structure
Ensure consistency, quality, and value delivery across all Fractional CFO client relationships
Serve as a Fractional CFO for clients, providing strategic financial leadership
Advise clients on forecasting, cash flow management, capital structure, KPIs, budgeting, and long-term planning
Support clients through critical initiatives such as growth planning, acquisitions, system implementations, and lender or investor relationships
Translate financial data into actionable insights for executive and board-level decision-making
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CFO-level advisors
Provide coaching on executive presence, strategic thinking, and advisory effectiveness
Conduct performance evaluations and guide career development for senior advisory staff
Support recruiting efforts for senior-level advisory talent within the Fractional CFO practice
Partner with firm leadership and business development teams on Fractional CFO opportunities
Participate in prospect meetings, proposal development, and solution design for complex engagements
Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through deeper advisory services
Contribute thought leadership through presentations, webinars, articles, or client education initiatives
Monitor engagement economics including utilization, realization, and profitability for CFO engagements
Ensure appropriate staffing models and leverage across Fractional CFO engagements
Identify operational improvements to enhance scalability, consistency, and client experience
Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on practice performance metrics and client feedback
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred (MBA a plus)
Relevant work experience such as: 15+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or advisory roles, including CFO-level responsibilities
Prior leadership experience managing teams and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting operations, and financial analysis
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to grow a market, develop business, and build professional networks
Proven capabilities as it relates to: Executive-level financial strategy, leadership and advisory presence, client relationship and trust building, strategic problem-solving and decision-making, practice development and operational excellence, and a high level of professionalism and integrity
Ability to: work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, while interacting with all levels inside and outside the organization, taking initiative, anticipating problems and formulating resolutions, exercising good judgment/decision making, prioritizing and multi-tasking, working independently, etc
