Patton Electronics is seeking an SMT Manufacturing Engineer who will develop and maintain assembly processes and oversee equipment maintenance. The role involves specifying, installing, and training operators on automated process equipment, as well as improving assembly processes and maintaining standards in the ERP system.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain assembly processes including oven profiling and process chemical evaluation and selection
Specify, install, train operators, and program all automated process equipment (SMT, AOI)
Oversee all equipment maintenance
Generate assembly documentation
Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews
Provide board panelization inputs and reviews of bare board manufacturing requirements
Coordinate facility requirements including layout related to equipment operation and maintenance
Continually improve assembly processes
Develop and maintain standards and routings in the ERP system
Implement engineering changes into production documentation as required

Required

A Bachelor's degree in a STEM(Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) related major or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years experience in automated electronic assembly process engineering including at least 1 year of programming SMT equipment
Experience in a production/ manufacturing environment in an engineering capacity
Knowledge and familiarity of ISO9001, IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards
Hands-on knowledge of electro-mechanical manufacturing and assembly are required
