Responsibilities
Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope
Under supervision, analyze information and provide limited technical guidance within a specific function for others within the organization, including Marketing, Applications, Manufacturing, and Purchasing
Under direction of experienced engineers, make design modifications to standard products for specific customer needs, to an acceptable quality, performance, safety, and cost standard
Support product/development testing and design activities in support of engineering objectives
Assist in designing components and test fixtures as required in testing and qualification of new concepts or supplier components
Assist in using manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping to improve productivity
Assist in various Cost Improvement Goals, proposing new ideas and initiating cost reduction and product improvement effort to increase overall value of product
Support the timely resolution of field service problems using sound engineering judgment
Keep current on product and component technology improvements and industry trends to effectively perform functions of the position
Investigate engineering/manufacturing issues related to assembly of product and take corrective action to prevent recurrence of problems
Support the maintenance of agency and regulatory approval status (UL, CRN, ASME, KHK, CE, etc.)
Maintain product documentation to assure engineering documentation, drafting documentation, and product are consistent
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in a technical, scientific or engineering degree
0-2 years of related experience
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
