Field Technician D (Westbury, NY)
L3Harris Technologies is dedicated to recruiting high-performing talent and is looking for a Field Technician for their Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role involves providing onsite technical support, installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment at FAA facilities.

Responsibilities
Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS and others) L3Harris supports for the FAA
Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers’ remote locations
Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area
Occasionally travelling to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or requests
Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders
Possess good admin skills (taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location)
Work directly with the NOCC, the SAC, and the Helpdesk over the phone on resolving issues in the field
Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle
Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching
Able to work outside regularly scheduled hours (on-call) when/if needed to meet customer’s needs
Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10ft
Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3Harris policies/procedures and program specific policies/procedures are followed
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Qualification
Required
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent and a satisfactory driving record
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Preferred
Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
Ability to work from home, in an “on-call” status
Ability to obtain and maintain active FAA Security Clearance
Capable of lifting 70 pounds
Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3 hour drive circle of base location
Utilize ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
Ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
Have an excellent working knowledge of fiber, working knowledge of Multiplexers, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
Working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC
Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC power supplies
Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards
Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets
IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
Experience installing equipment racks (wall mount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
