Director of Development
Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen (HASK) is one of New York City's largest and most respected emergency food programs, and they are seeking a Director of Development to lead and scale their fundraising strategy. The role involves deepening donor relationships and driving sustainable revenue growth to support the mission of feeding and serving New Yorkers in need.

Responsibilities
Design and execute multi-channel fundraising campaigns (e.g., Annual Appeal, Giving Tuesday, End-of-Year Campaign) and lead major gift and planned giving initiatives to secure significant financial commitments
Cultivate and steward relationships with individual, major, foundation, and corporate donors through personalized outreach, events, and on-site tours
Supervise and inspire a dedicated Development team, including development operations, events, and communications staff. Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development
Develop annual and multi-year fundraising plans, manage the development budget, and collaborate with the Board Development Committee to set and achieve ambitious revenue goals
Oversee grant prospecting, proposal writing, and reporting. Lead signature fundraising events such as the HASK Spring Benefit, Holiday Appeal, and special donor cultivation events
Oversee donor communications, newsletters, website content, and social media in partnership with program leadership and external vendors. Strengthen brand visibility through press outreach and refreshed marketing materials
Qualification
Required
7+ years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in major gifts, institutional giving, and campaign management
Bachelor's Degree required
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with donor CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or NeonOne)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong analytical and budgeting capabilities
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Proven ability to build, manage, and motivate a team, with experience supervising staff and volunteers
Preferred
Master's Degree or CFRE certification preferred
Experience in hunger relief, homelessness, or human services is a plus
