The Water Treatment Operator assists in the operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities
Assist with monitoring water treatment systems such as chemical feed systems, pumps, and related equipment under guidance
Learn to collect and help analyze water samples, read gauges, and report to the supervisor
Assist in monitoring and recording water quality readings (pH, chlorine, turbidity, etc.) and report any out-of-range results to supervisors
Use system maps, diagrams, and process flow charts to become familiar with water system operations
Accurately log daily operational data, chemical usage, and water quality results following established procedures
Assist on preventive maintenance activities and basic repairs on equipment, working with experienced team members
Communicate regularly with team members and supervisors regarding system status and work activities
Notify appropriate personnel of alarms, equipment issues, or unusual conditions and follow escalation procedures
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and participate in training and improvement activities
Assist in mixing chemicals according to company guidelines
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Preferred
Trade/Technical certification preferred but not required
2-4 years of related experience preferred
Welding experience preferred but not required
