Principal R&D Scientist
FXI is a leading manufacturer of polyurethane foam, providing comfort solutions in various markets. As a Principal R&D Scientist, you will lead the development of advanced polyurethane foam materials, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and manage the lifecycle of new material development.

Responsibilities
Lead development of novel polyurethane foam formulations for technical and medical applications
Drive innovation in polymer chemistry to create differentiated products with enhanced performance
Collaborate with business development leaders to determine chemistry and product requirements
Create testing methodologies to quantify product performance in non-standard applications
Facilitate the transition of new foam formulations from the laboratory bench to large-scale manufacturing
Report research and development findings in written and presentation format
Deliver presentations to internal and external audiences
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science, or closely related field
Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience will also be considered
Minimum of 5 years of experience in polymer formulation development or related work
Expert-level knowledge of polymer chemistry and structure-property relationships, ideally with a focus on polyurethanes
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external colleagues, fostering a collaborative workplace environment
Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
Preferred
Experience with medical-grade materials and regulatory requirements
Skilled in developing and validating test methods to quantify performance-critical properties
Proven skill in transitioning formulations from lab-scale to manufacturing-scale production
Experience in technical service and/or technical applications development
