Laboratory Manager- Anatomic Pathology

Duly Health and Care is seeking a Laboratory Manager for their Anatomic Pathology department. This role is responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and managing the productivity and development of technical laboratory personnel.

Responsibilities

Maintains quality results by participating in the laboratory quality assurance program; consulting with pathologists; performing proficiency surveys; reviewing quality control and quality assurance programs; making adjustments in policy and procedures; generating reports; maintaining records
Maintains pre analytical variation which includes accessioning, specimen processing, and policies and procedures
Maintains accreditation with College of American Pathologists (CAP), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), licensing for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
Ensures laboratory is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
Monitoring reports for the following: turnaround times of results, view critical results, testing volumes, lab site to lab site volume, peek time testing and accurate results
Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress
Calibration verification and method review of new tests
Comparison of old methods to new methods
Laboratory Information system (LIS) verification and review
Writing CLSI procedures / SOP
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the selection, training, evaluation, and necessary discipline of technical staff
Maintains medical laboratory productivity by monitoring workload of functional areas; identifying peak and slack periods; making operational or staffing adjustment
Also responsible for disciplinary actions that may be necessary
Qualified candidate will also hold annual reviews and competency evaluations for technical staff
Responsible for managing the daily schedule for all staff to ensure adequate staff coverage at all DMG locations to provide the needed laboratory service hours, including approving vacation and other time-off requests of staff to maintain coverage

Required

Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT)
Medical Laboratory Scientist (Medical Technologist) (MLS/MT)
Certification with American Medical Technologist (AMT)
American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Associates degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, allied health technologies or science
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, allied health technologist or science
Must have a degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution in accordance with CLIA
Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from the IERF (International Education Research Foundation)
United States educated candidates must provide a detailed original transcript
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience and oversees at least 10 or more employees
Plus a minimum of five years of laboratory experience required
Must have experience in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or Medical Laboratory Science with in a medical laboratory setting in accordance with CLIA
