Senior Software Engineer - Cyber Operations
Aquila Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to critical national security programs with a federal intelligence agency. This role offers the opportunity to develop cutting-edge cyber capabilities and lead technical teams in support of mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities
Design and develop custom software solutions for Computer Network Operations (CNO) tools and techniques
Architect and implement end-to-end data flow and tasking systems for CNO tools
Author comprehensive technical documentation and participate in design, code, and software readiness reviews in accordance with government software development procedures and processes
Lead and mentor junior developers in daily technical tasks and project execution
Qualification
Required
Must have an Active Full Scope Polygraph to be considered for this position
Proficiency in Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python
Experience developing Windows applications using Visual Studio or .NET environments; UNIX applications using makefiles or comparable build environments; or embedded/mobile platform development using proprietary, GOTS, or open source build environments
Ability to provide/author documentation and participate in design, code, and software readiness reviews as prescribed by government software development procedures and processes
Proficient use of software version control tools (e.g., Subversion, Git, or CVS)
Strong debugging and issue resolution skills across multiple platforms
Develop network socket programs including packet-level programs with expert understanding of IP, TCP, and application-level protocols
Lead development teams, actively direct end-to-end design and development efforts, and drive innovation in CNO solutions
Demonstrated ability to develop in Unix and/or Windows low-level internals including: OS runtime linker/loader, Object file formats (PE, COFF, ELF), File system internals (NTFS, ext2, btrfs), OS-specific mandatory and discretionary access control mechanisms, Process and thread APIs and data structures
Author and deliver technical presentations on assigned projects to stakeholders and leadership
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Network Engineering
Twelve (12) years of programming experience in computer science, information systems, or network engineering
In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree: Sixteen (16) years of programming experience
Master's Degree plus ten (10) years of experience
PhD plus eight (8) years of experience
Active Full Scope Polygraph (required at time of hire)
