Responsibilities
Develop automated UI test scripts from scratch for Android applications using Espresso
Build and maintain automated UI tests for iOS using XCUITest/SwiftUI (or ramp up quickly to do so)
Maintain, enhance, and debug both Android and iOS test suites as application features evolve
Execute automated test suites daily, monitor results, triage failures, and ensure long‑term test stability
Design and scale UI automation frameworks aligned with engineering standards
Collaborate with Android/iOS engineers to identify automation candidates and strengthen coverage
Participate in code reviews for test scripts and contribute to test‑engineering best practices
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and resolve automation-related pipeline issues
Analyze test results, document defects, and ensure clear reproducibility
Manage device testing environments, including emulators, simulators, and test tooling
Partner with QA, Product, and Engineering teams to establish quality metrics and release readiness criteria
Qualification
Required
3+ years of hands-on, production-level Android UI test automation using Espresso
Proven ability to write Espresso tests from the ground up, not just maintain existing ones
Expert-level experience with Espresso components: ViewMatchers, ViewActions, ViewAssertions, IdlingResource, and custom matchers/actions
Strong working knowledge of Android Studio, ADB, Gradle, and Kotlin/Java
Experience building automation frameworks that scale with product growth
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve flaky tests
Strong test engineering fundamentals and clean, modular coding practices
Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
Exposure to API testing tools like Postman or comparable platforms
Solid understanding of mobile QA processes and defect lifecycle management
Demonstrated ability to work independently as the primary automation engineer on a team
Preferred
Experience writing and maintaining iOS UI automation using XCUITest for SwiftUI apps
Ability to create XCUITest suites from scratch and maintain them over product iterations
Familiarity with Xcode, Swift, and the broader iOS development ecosystem
Exposure to mobile performance, accessibility, or security testing
