MECM/SCCM Deployment and Junior Package Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Junior Package Engineer to provide support for creating and maintaining deployment packages using MECM/SCCM concepts. The role involves assisting with building and monitoring deployment packages for OS upgrades, device drivers, and software installations, while troubleshooting deployment issues and collaborating with systems engineers.

Responsibilities

Assist in fulfilling requests for creation and deployment of desktop software packages and managing scheduled software patching and updates
Support patching, application developing, and as required architect and design within MECM/SCCM
Utilize deployment techniques, advertisements and software center restricted and public application publishing
Leverage MECM/SCCM to provide security updates, cumulative rollups, hotfixes, and other updates as necessary to end user workstations
Help maintain existing packages and add new packages as required in support of a large government customer base
Troubleshoot failed MECM/SCCM deployments and MECM/SCCM health issues
Troubleshoot unhealthy MECM/SCCM clients
Ability to create and edit scripts in PowerShell, restrict features, and improve security
Support the deployment of security updates/configurations, supporting Windows desktop images, and day to day support for the enterprise. Third party and custom application support is also necessary, including utilization of other endpoint management tools
Collaborate with systems engineers on security updates, vulnerability patches, hotfixes and other updates or scripts to provide workarounds of fixes to user workstations and servers as required
Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences (both contractor and federal government employees)
Establish and maintain strong relationship with government customer
Contribute to the development of documentation, SOPs, reports, and presentation slide decks
Perform additional duties as assigned

Required

Assist in fulfilling requests for creation and deployment of desktop software packages and managing scheduled software patching and updates
Support patching, application developing, and as required architect and design within MECM/SCCM

Minimum education, licenses, certifications (if any) and experience needed to perform the essential duties of this position
Education: Associates or Experience
Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience or academic background (Help Desk/Site Technician)
No clearance requirement but the contract and/or the site requires US Citizenship to be approved for access
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
Required Screenings: Drug Screen, Physical Assessment (if applicable), Background Check (Criminal, Civil, Educational, Previous Employment, etc.), Driver Record Screen (for positions requiring on-the-job-driving)
Basic experience and understanding developing and deploying Software Packages and Applications for workstations and laptops using MECM/SCCM and Software Center
Familiarity and understanding of AD, Forest, and domain environments including Group and Local Policies, filters, groups, login scripts and registry (Windows)
Ability to coordinate system drivers and software application updates
Experience with TrackIT or similar ticketing system
Microsoft Office 365 and Windows O/S working experience
