Responsibilities
Providing a positive and welcoming onboarding experience to new employees joining the Penn State community
Assisting new employees with the completion of Form I-9 and other related onboarding requirements in accordance with Federal/State laws and University policies
Processing human resources and payroll forms in our Human Capital Management system, Workday. Transactions processed in Workday include the following: terminations, compensation changes, supplemental payments and graduate assistant appointments
Ensuring timely processing in accordance with payroll deadlines
Qualification
Required
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)
2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted (if filled as Human Resources Assistant - Intermediate Support)
No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education (if filled as Human Resources Assistant - Support)
Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
Professionalism
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
High degree of sensitivity in handling confidential information
Strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies
