Responsibilities
The evolution of a scalable GCP data platform that supports analytics and machine learning
Data pipelines that transform complex scientific data into trusted, usable datasets
Strong engineering practices around quality, observability and performance
A culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement
Effective partnership between data engineering, data science and research teams
The ongoing development and growth of data engineers through mentorship and coaching
Qualification
Required
Proven experience managing data engineering teams in production environments
Strong hands-on background with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GCS)
Excellent Python and SQL skills within modern data stacks
Experience designing platforms that support analytics and ML use cases
Clear communicator across engineering, product and scientific stakeholders
Preferred
Exposure to scientific, biotech or ML-heavy environments
Experience supporting feature engineering or ML-ready datasets
Familiarity with orchestration and workflow tooling
