Instrument and Control Technician - Rice

Wisconsin Public Service, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Instrument and Control Technician - Rice in Negaunee, Michigan. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable generation of electricity by maintaining and inspecting the RICE generating station and its equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintain RICE generating station in accordance with approved procedures and established targets for safety, plant reliability, availability, output, efficiency and regulatory compliance
Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance duties on equipment and systems associated with RICE Generating Stations
Follow all safety related processes and procedures including, but not limited to: energy control; confined space; hot work
Modify and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) software, and other plant control systems
Operate and maintain all emissions control and monitoring equipment
Operate and use specialized tools and equipment to maintain RICE generating station
Support operation of RICE generating station by qualifying for operational duties, performing local operational duties and responding to call outs
Complete necessary documents including maintenance, operational, and emission monitoring reporting

Required

Associate Degree in the area of Electric Power Technology, Industrial Electrical Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, Automation Engineering Technology, Utilities Engineering Technology, Instrumentation OR
Journeyman status as an Instrument Mechanic or Electrical and Instrumentation Technician OR
Equivalent Armed Forces training
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
+ 5 years technical experience OR currently at journeyman level in the electrical and/or instrument or IC&E trade
+ 2 years of power generation operational experience or equivalent
Valid Drivers License
Ability to understand basic mechanical principles, visualize proper assembled form of objects, read and comprehend technical material; and skill in working basic mathematical problems

Preferred

Experience in both instrument and electrical trades preferred
Experience with RICE power generation or industrial process systems is preferred
