National Legal Aid & Defender Association is seeking a passionate advocate to join the Public Law Center's Immigration Unit. The role involves providing direct legal representation to immigrant communities and coordinating pro bono representation, focusing on various immigration matters including removal defense and naturalization.

Responsibilities

Conduct legal screenings and consultations

Maintain full caseload of immigration cases, including removal defense and affirmative relief

Participate in collaborative advocacy efforts in coalition with other legal service providers and community partners

Oversee volunteer pro bono attorneys and law students through training, technical support, and general supervision

Participate in immigration legal clinics, workshops, and community education presentations

Represent PLC at legal networking and community outreach events

Required

J.D. from an accredited law school

Active membership in the California State Bar

Ability to manage a full caseload and meet deadlines

Willingness to travel throughout Orange County and neighboring counties

Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community presentations/events
