The role involves assisting in the quick repair of barges, including installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical devices and valves.

Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, assist in the quick repair barges inside and/or outside
The Quick Repair Technician is responsible for install, repair, and maintain mechanical regulating and controlling devices, safety, and flow valves
Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualification
Required
Basic math, reading comprehension and writing skills
Work long hours doing repetitive motions in any weather
Work occasional weekends or holidays
Dependable
Manages time effectively
Must be mechanically inclined and familiar using hand tools and torque wrenches
Must be willing to help out in other departments as needed
Ability to work independently or as a team
Must pass background check and drug screening
Must be able to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights (15 feet off the ground)
Prior experience with bubble leak tests
Prior experience with valve removal or reassembly
Willingness to accept instruction; ability to follow instructions; demonstrate a desire to learn; be aware of safety considerations
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
