Responsibilities
Building 2D and 3D finite element models of turbine components
Running thermal, structural, modal or forced response analysis with thermal and mechanical loads followed by lifing (LCF, HCF, creep, oxidation, fracture mechanics)
Postprocessing of modal results (frequency/Campbell diagram creation)
Presenting in Design Reviews
Focus and work in PowerPoint
Review 2D & 3D models
Support root cause analysis (RCA) work
Qualification
Required
At least 4 years of engineering design experience in gas turbine engines
Must have availability to be flexible with working hours given this is a global team
Must be able to handle export-controlled material
Prior experience supporting or leading root cause analyses (RCA)
Classic Ansys/mechanical design experience (2+ years)
UG/NX experience (2+ years)
Knowledge of GD&T standards, and how to interpret engineering drawings, perform stackups, etc
Experience using PLM or Teamcenter configuration management tools
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Customer satisfaction mindset, ability to work well in a team environment with a positive 'can do' attitude
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline
Preferred
Masters of Science in Engineering
