Project Manager - Civil Engineering
City of Chesapeake is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to lead a talented team dedicated to serving customers. The role involves managing and supervising various engineering projects, ensuring compliance with policies and standards, and mentoring staff within the Public Utilities Department.

Responsibilities
Establishing, updating, and implementing design policies and standards. Ensure that all Public Utility related projects comply with city, departmental and regulatory agency policies, procedures and standards
Administrative work including maintenance of engineering records and plans, processing of daily paperwork including reports, requisitions, and personnel information
Gathering and maintaining information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for area of responsibility
Supervising, mentoring and training of staff, to include assignment and evaluation of work product
Developing and implementing solutions for diverse engineering challenges
Assists in updating long-term water and sanitary sewer master plans
Developing, controlling, and administering divisional operational budgets including performing cost analysis and projections
Qualification
Required
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in construction, civil engineering, or closely related field
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of six years of relevant, full-time equivalent experience
Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards
Professional Engineer License required
