Vice President of Sales (North America)
Learning Pool is a full-service online training provider that offers learning courses, platforms, analytics, and custom content development services to over 1,400 organizations. They are seeking a Vice President of Sales to oversee a team of 30+ in the North American market, focusing on revenue leadership, strategic growth, and people development.
Responsibilities
Own and drive ambitious revenue targets across net new sales, existing customer expansion, and renewals for the North American market
Develop and execute strategies to achieve consistent, predictable, and scalable growth
Lead, mentor, and optimize the entire North American sales organization, including sales managers, individual contributors, and the Sales Development Representative team, ensuring seamless execution from lead generation to close
Establish, refine, and enforce a rigorous, data-driven sales process and pipeline management methodology (preferably MEDDPICC-derived)
Drive accurate forecasting and provide strategic insights to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
Implement best practices for sales operations, territory planning, and quota management to maximize team efficiency and effectiveness across a geographically dispersed team
Play a key leadership role in M&A diligence processes, providing crucial insights on sales integration, market potential, and talent assessment for inorganic growth opportunities
Elevate Learning Pools profile within the HR Tech/Learning Tech industry
Act as a recognized figure, regularly contributing to industry discussions, speaking at conferences, and participating in expert panels
Serve as a key spokesperson for Learning Pool in North America, engaging with media, analysts, and public forums to enhance brand visibility and reputation
Cultivate and maintain a thriving, high-performance sales culture
Effectively manage both high and low performers, implementing strategies for engagement, motivation, and performance improvement
Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of top sales talent, fostering a clear path for career progression and ensuring high retention rates
Provide exceptional coaching and mentorship to sales managers and individual contributors, empowering them to achieve their full potential and contribute to collective success
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive enterprise sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a second-line leadership role overseeing significant revenue targets
Demonstrated experience contributing to broader business strategy beyond pure sales, ideally with exposure to P&L management, or market development
Proven experience in HR Tech, Learning Tech, or adjacent SaaS markets is highly desirable, with a strong network and understanding of the ecosystem
Track record of successfully scaling revenue and high-performing sales teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments within North America
Strong operational command of structured sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC) and experience implementing them across an organization
Ability to define and execute comprehensive strategies for sales growth, market penetration, and M&A integration
Inspirational leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of motivating diverse teams and managing complex organizational dynamics
Strong understanding of business financials, P&L implications, and the ability to contribute to strategic financial planning
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels, including external media and industry leaders
