Clinical Registry Advisory Sr

Atrium Health is seeking a Clinical Registry Advisory Sr to provide senior level support and guidance in maintaining and enhancing department processes. The role involves ensuring accurate registry data analytics and reporting while coordinating projects and training new teammates.

Responsibilities

Carries out process audits to ensure reliability of standard abstraction
Actively seeks ways to improve efficiency in abstraction
Maintains general knowledge of department policies and procedures
Responsible for department orientation and training of new teammates
Ensures regular communication of data to sites
Creates and maintains essential data and files to provide for department reports as directed by manager/supervisor
Attends, assists with and/or leads department meetings
Directs and executes multiple, concurrent projects independent of or with little supervision from leadership
Participates in data validation for both internal and external quality reporting
Coordinates medical records to help improve data integrity and patient outcomes
Abstracts, reports, submits clinical data from electronic medical records and other systems to support mandated and ad hoc data collection/reporting needs for both internal and external reporting programs
Serves as an expert resource in analyzing and interpreting registry data based on clinical expertise and current evidence-based literature identifying patterns, trends, opportunities for improvement and highlighting best practices found
Utilizes current evidence to guide the team in developing recommendations and strategies to address identified opportunities and improve patient outcomes
Assures completion and validation of accurate and timely submission of data at appropriate intervals to the various advanced and complex disease/procedure specific specialty databases and other registries as required for compliance with membership and professional standards
Identifies and maintains effective case-finding techniques to assure all eligible and appropriate patients are included in the registry databases
Utilizes expert clinical knowledge to interpret complex clinical documentation content to accurately conduct concurrent and/or retrospective abstraction of medical records in order to facilitate the analysis, monitoring and reporting of quality data
Identifies system opportunities for data integrity and improved performance
Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business

Required

RN or RHIA Credentialed. If Cancer registry, certified oncology data specialist (ODS-C)
Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Health Information or related field
5 years of Clinical, Quality Reporting, Data Abstraction, Data Analysis; healthcare environment
Experience working with Quality reports, EMRs, and clinical data
Proficient with MS-Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Strong communication and networking skills
Desire to learn with strong intellectual curiosity
Ability to work independently for project completion
Demonstrates critical thinking, ability to problem solve, and is results oriented
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team
Ability to create reports, graphs, and other visual presentation materials, and effectively maintain statistical data
Analyze complex data, make inferences, and validate conclusions
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
Exposed to a normal office environment
