Responsibilities
Overseeing a comprehensive activities program at SCI Frackville
Planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating a range of activities, including varsity and intramural sports, as well as recreational activities
Providing opportunities for recreation, physical development, and athletic competition for inmates
Supervising inmates and coaches
Managing all aspects of organized athletic competitions, such as recruitment, physical exams, practice schedules, and equipment
Maintaining and safely storing athletic and recreational equipment
Qualification
Required
Two (2) years of experience as a Corrections Activities Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year as a Corrections Activities Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three (3) years of experience in developing and conducting a variety of recreational activities, including one (1) year in Corrections and one year of supervisory or lead work experience, and a bachelor's degree, with major course work in recreation and physical education; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
