Responsibilities
Develop, publish, and maintain enterprise reference architectures, standards, and roadmaps
Lead application modernization efforts, transitioning legacy systems to cloud-native or hybrid solutions
Design and oversee secure integrations across enterprise platforms such as Azure, Salesforce, and Appian
Architect scalable, secure cloud solutions aligned with Commonwealth security frameworks, federal regulations, and industry best practices
Collaborate with agency stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns with business objectives and citizen engagement needs
Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight to development teams and project managers
Define data interoperability strategies while ensuring compliance with data protection and record retention policies
Review and validate solution designs to ensure enterprise and governance compliance
Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve service delivery, reporting, and operational efficiency
Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, standards, and future-state roadmaps
Act as a trusted advisor, influencing across teams without direct authority
Qualification
Required
10+ years of professional IT experience, including enterprise architecture, application development, and modernization
Strong experience with enterprise reference architectures and technology standards
Hands-on expertise in API design, secure integrations, and distributed systems
Proven experience designing and implementing cloud architectures (preferably Microsoft Azure)
Strong background in developing and executing technology roadmaps aligned with business and regulatory goals
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for business and technical stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred
Architecture certifications such as TOGAF 9.x, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Salesforce Application Architect
Prior experience working in state or federal government environments
Familiarity with low-code platforms, especially Appian (case management, workflows, regulatory systems)
Experience with Salesforce platforms, geospatial systems, or regulatory data standards
