Responsibilities
Develop and manage BIM models primarily using Autodesk Revit for sub-trade scope, including HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, and controls
Produce and interpret AutoCAD drawings for backgrounds, legacy documents, and coordination support
Aggregate models and perform clash detection using Navisworks
Participate in coordination workflows with GC-led and engineer-led BIM teams
Resolve clashes and constructability issues in collaboration with estimators, engineers, and external modelers
Create SketchUp models for early-phase studies, residential layouts, retrofit visualization, and fast concept development
Support estimating efforts with quantity takeoffs, scope clarification models, and constructability visuals
Model existing buildings where documentation is incomplete, outdated, or inconsistent
Support limited ground-up projects when required, though the majority of work is retrofit and existing facilities
Assist with solar layout studies, energy modeling, and basic building performance analysis
Collaborate closely with Kalos Estimation leadership and internal software development related to Unity Build Estimation
Manage tasks, milestones, and coordination workflows using ClickUp
Support projects across both Kalos Services and Blue Rabbit Consulting as needed
Qualification
Required
Five or more years of professional experience in BIM and construction modeling
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit for commercial construction
Practical working experience with Navisworks for coordination and clash detection
Proficiency in AutoCAD for construction documentation and background management
High level of comfort with SketchUp for quick modeling, residential work, and conceptual studies
Experience modeling MEP systems as a sub-trade rather than as a prime designer
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and field conditions
Experience coordinating with general contractors, engineers, and other trade modelers
Direct experience working on existing buildings, renovations, and retrofit projects
Preferred
Experience capturing LiDAR scans of existing buildings and sites
Ability to process, register, and interpret point cloud data
Experience integrating point cloud data into Revit or other BIM workflows for existing building modeling
Experience capturing and analyzing thermal imagery for building diagnostics, energy analysis, or system evaluation
Familiarity with building science concepts related to HVAC performance, moisture, energy, and controls
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate for small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) operation
Experience using aerial drone imagery or photogrammetry to support BIM, site analysis, or existing conditions documentation
Background supporting estimating or preconstruction teams
Experience working alongside or supporting internally developed software tools
Residential modeling experience in addition to commercial work
