Responsibilities
Support BIW quality assurance activities across stamping, framing, body assembly, and welding operations
Monitor and improve BIW dimensional quality, fit & finish, and weld integrity
Perform and support root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
Drive containment, corrective, and preventive actions for internal manufacturing and supplier-related issues
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Launch, and Product Engineering teams to ensure design for manufacturability and quality
Support new program launches, build events, and plant trials to meet quality and readiness targets
Review and support PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and work instructions related to BIW processes
Analyze quality data (plant issues, audit results, dimensional data) and communicate findings to cross-functional teams
Support supplier quality topics related to BIW components in coordination with SQE teams
Ensure compliance with Chrysler and OEM quality standards, IATF 16949, and internal quality procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in BIW Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Production Engineering within the automotive industry
Understanding of BIW manufacturing processes (stamping, welding, framing, body assembly)
Working knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, and quality launch processes
Familiarity with problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, DMAIC, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced OEM environment
Preferred
Experience supporting Chrysler or other OEM programs
Exposure to new vehicle launches or major program changes
Familiarity with BIW dimensional control and measurement systems
Experience working directly on the plant floor in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with quality data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Minitab, OEM systems)
