Responsibilities

Support application intake and logistics
Respond to basic applicant questions using approved language
Track deadlines and organize application materials
Prepare orientation packets and selection committee materials
Enter program metrics and volunteer hours following workdays
Support leadership reporting needs
Draft social media captions and newsletter blurbs for review
Organize and manage photos and media from community workdays
Assist with website updates and development of promotional content
Support language translation coordination
Lead canvassing efforts with staff and volunteers
Assist with tabling preparation and follow-up
Prepare materials for community council and special interest group presentations
Support volunteer outreach communications
Assist with youth education group logistics
Support partnership-building efforts with university students and interest groups
Support volunteer communications and confirmations (including forms, if used)
Assist with event preparation and breakdown for SLC Corps initiatives
Help track volunteer participation and recognition
Assist with Love Your Block Celebration

Required

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university. Summer internships may not require concurrent enrollment if the student is in good standing with the educational institution
Prior experience facilitating group activities or working with volunteers
Must have reliable transportation to varying job sites across the City
Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and troubleshooting abilities
A growth mindset and passion for learning
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Interest in government affairs, local politics, and community outreach

Preferred

Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Ability to flex communication style to multiple cultural environments
Multi-lingual
