Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders (business users, analysts) to understand data needs and translate them into technical specifications

Data Modeling: Design and develop robust data models, connecting to various data sources (SQL, Azure, etc.)

Data Transformation (ETL): Clean, transform, and shape raw data using Power Query (M language) for analysis

Report/Dashboard Development: Create interactive visualizations, charts, and dashboards in Power BI Desktop and publish to Power BI Service

DAX & Calculations: Write complex DAX formulas for calculated columns and measures to derive meaningful insights

Optimization: Improve report performance, query efficiency, and data load times

Data Governance & Security: Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage access controls

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with reports, data refreshes, and data connectivity

User Support: Provide technical assistance, training, and guidance to end-users on Power BI functionality

System Monitoring: Schedule report refreshes, monitor data pipeline health, and manage Power BI gateways

Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for reports, data models, and processes
