Senior Associate Capital Markets
Talisman is assisting a leading distributed energy platform focused on commercial and industrial solar and storage assets in their search for a Senior Associate/Vice President of Capital Markets. This role involves leading capital formation and financial structuring efforts, supporting financing solutions, and engaging with stakeholders to present financial information.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present clear, board-ready materials that articulate financial performance, capital needs, and strategic direction
Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for executive stakeholders and financing partners
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning initiatives
Lead execution of capital raises
Develop optimal structures to finance a growing portfolio of distributed energy projects
Structure and negotiate commercial relationships with business partners
M&A and financing execution, ensuring thorough analysis and risk mitigation
Own financial due diligence across all investment opportunities
Ensure accuracy and completeness of assumptions in all financial models
Build, refine, and maintain platform-level financial models to support fundraising and strategic decision-making
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure technical and commercial inputs are accurately reflected in models
Collaborate with Development, Legal, Asset Management, and Finance teams to consolidate inputs into investor-ready materials
Serve as internal project manager for all capital markets processes, ensuring alignment and execution across teams
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in capital markets, project finance, investment banking, or private equity in the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors
Deep expertise in financial modeling, deal structuring, and investor-facing communications
Proven track record of executing tax equity, project equity, or similar structured finance transactions
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline required
Preferred
Experience in distributed generation or C&I solar is preferred, but candidates from utility-scale or broader infra backgrounds will be considered
MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, industry standards and regulations
Deep knowledge of civil, electrical, utility interconnection, and emerging regulatory and policy developments impacting DG solar
Experience in community solar, battery storage, and Virtual Power Plants (VPPs)
