Responsibilities
Support and resolve of the most difficult or advanced network problems using expert level troubleshooting and analysis methods
Produce and peer review MOPS for complex changes on the network
Perform proactive monitoring, configuration management and fault resolution of complex problems
Provide training, assistance, and support for the NOC
Performs customer advocate duties while maintaining a positive and professional manner, especially during high stress situations
Works in conjunction with internal technicians and external service providers/engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Contribute toward departmental and company goals and objectives
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of experience in Network Operations, Engineering, or Field Service within the telecommunications industry
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Expertise in at least one SME focus area: IP & Routing, Voice, or Video, with strong knowledge of Ethernet and IP protocols
Hands-on experience with EMS, NMS, ticketing systems, and network management tools
Solid understanding of IP networking, TCP/IP protocols, routing, and switching
Required experience with Nokia, Adtran, and Calix OLTs; Cisco and Juniper equipment preferred
Familiarity with Nokia Altiplano, Nokia AMS, Adtran AOE/Mosaic, and Calix CMS platforms
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
Willingness to work on-call, maintenance windows, and rotating shifts as needed
Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills for customer and vendor interactions
Preferred
Technology and equipment certifications strongly desired; experience working with LECs and other carriers preferred
