Assistant Professor/Program Director - Dental Hygiene

North Idaho College is seeking an Assistant Professor/Program Director of Dental Hygiene who is ready to lead, teach, and shape a high-quality, CODA-accredited program. This role blends academic leadership with hands-on teaching and clinical oversight, focusing on program quality, accreditation compliance, and student success.

Responsibilities

Lead, teach, and shape a high-quality, CODA-accredited program that prepares students for licensure and meaningful careers in dental hygiene
Provide vision and accountability for program quality, accreditation compliance, curriculum alignment, and workforce relevance
Serve as the primary connection between the college, accrediting bodies, advisory committees, students, and community and clinical partners
Oversee the on-campus dental hygiene clinic and associated laboratories, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant learning environments
Coordinate clinical education experiences that meet accreditation and regulatory standards
Manage curriculum review, student learning outcomes, licensure results, advisory committee engagement, budgeting support, faculty coordination, and accreditation reporting, including preparation for self-studies and site visits
Teach classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction, using a range of instructional methods and technologies

Master’s degree in Dental HygieneLicensed Dental Hygienist (RDH)Teaching experience in CODA-accredited programClinical experience as dental hygienistCPR/BLS certificationStudent-centered teachingCommunity engagementLeadership skillsCommunication skillsOrganizational skills

Required

Master's degree in Dental Hygiene or a related field
Minimum of three years of full-time equivalent clinical experience as a licensed dental hygienist
Minimum of two years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program or comparable accredited allied health educational setting
Graduate of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in the State of Idaho, or eligibility for licensure with the ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) within 90 days of hire
Eligible to receive an Idaho post-secondary Career Technical Education (CTE) certificate
Must have a valid driver's license
