Senior Systems Development Engineer, Leo Network Services
Amazon is seeking a Senior Systems Development Engineer for its Leo Network Services, which focuses on delivering reliable internet connectivity via a low Earth orbit satellite network. Responsibilities
Build and maintain processes, procedures, and tooling to monitor, troubleshoot, and operate a global Service Provider network at scale
Develop proactive monitoring and alerting solutions to continuously improve network reliability and customer experience
Ensure that all systems are designed to be robust, scalable, maintainable, and adaptable
Integrate with existing systems such as trouble ticketing, dashboards, and metrics tools and services
Mentor engineers and collaborate with other software development, systems development, and network teams
Provide support and incident response as part of an on-call rotation
Qualification
Required
5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
5+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience
5+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
Experience with building and maintaining network monitoring solutions in production environments
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
