Responsibilities
Perform structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion
Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities
Design structural components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers
Apply strong knowledge of commonly used structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the structural engineering services industry
Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers
Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software
Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities
Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients
Compile with all policies and standards
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelor's degree, in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering Technology, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus three (3) years of structural engineering experience
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree, in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus two (2) years of structural engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of described experience
A Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering Technology field must be accompanied with completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Designing multiple structural elements such as shallow and deep foundations, and steel girder infill beams
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Structural analysis software such as RAM structural system, Risa 3D/2D, Etabs, RISA foundation, or Etabs
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Structural BIM modeling programs such as Revit
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Spreadsheet programs such as Excel and software applications designing for performing, documenting, and sharing engineering calculations such as Enercalc or MathCAD
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Reviewing shop drawings submitted by contractors of multiple construction material types
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Preparing construction documents including drawings, calculations, and specifications
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Leading design tasks, mentoring and delegating work tasks to team members
