Amazon Strategy Lead - Contract
Indie Consulting is a fast-growing, strategy-led marketing consultancy that partners with exciting brands in CPG and beyond. They are seeking an experienced Amazon Strategy Lead to provide senior-level ownership of Amazon channel performance, planning, and growth for a consumer brand, guiding forecasting, investment strategy, and retail readiness.

Responsibilities
Own end-to-end Amazon channel performance, including revenue forecasting, sales planning, profitability management, and marketplace health
Guide strategic decisions across pricing, promotions, and investment tradeoffs to drive sustainable growth
Maintain a holistic view of Amazon performance, balancing short-term results with long-term growth objectives
Manage agency partners who are driving the execution of Amazon initiatives
Oversee full-funnel Amazon Advertising (Sponsored Ads and DSP), including agency partnership management and performance oversight
Set strategic direction for media investment, audience strategy, and testing priorities, with a focus on efficiency, incrementality, and demand creation
Partner with execution teams to ensure media strategy is effectively activated and optimized
Drive retail readiness through oversight of content optimization, SEO enhancements, testing frameworks, and brand-building initiatives
Ensure product detail pages and Brand Stores are optimized to support discoverability, conversion, and brand storytelling
Partner with Creative and Brand teams to align Amazon experiences with broader brand strategy and consumer expectations
Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Brand, Innovation, and Creative teams to align forecasts, inventory, promotions, and launches
Act as a connective leader across teams, reducing ambiguity and ensuring priorities are aligned
Support planning for key moments such as product launches, seasonal initiatives, and promotional events
Develop and guide data-driven dashboards and reporting frameworks to improve visibility and inform leadership decision-making
Translate performance data into clear insights, implications, and actionable recommendations
Use data to identify risks, opportunities, and tradeoffs across the Amazon business
Identify whitespace and growth drivers across categories, audiences, and Amazon initiatives
Build and refine frameworks for forecasting, promotional planning, and advertising alignment to improve accuracy and execution speed
Mentor and guide cross-functional partners on Amazon best practices, marketplace dynamics, and performance expectations
Qualification
Required
8–10+ years of experience across Amazon strategy, retail media, or eCommerce marketing
Deep expertise in Amazon Sponsored Ads, DSP, and the broader Amazon retail ecosystem
Proven experience leading Amazon strategy for complex or large-scale programs
Strong analytical fluency with the ability to turn data into strategic direction
Exceptional communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging senior and executive stakeholders
Ability to operate in ambiguity, set direction, and drive clarity across teams
Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented
