Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government facility location
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying site leadership and/or appropriate public agency contacts as directed by post orders
Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site
Monitor access points and common areas, verify visitor and employee authorization as required, and assist with directions, basic information, and de-escalation when needed
Complete required logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs, and communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and/or site representatives per site-specific procedures
Qualification
Required
A New York State Security Guard License is required
A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required
Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required based on client requirements
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
