Operations Controller

Responsibilities
Oversees the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for manufacturing operations
Oversees the forecasting and budgeting process for manufacturing operations
Provides detailed financial analysis, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement and presents financial results and recommendations to senior management
Develops and manages capital expenditure (Capex) budgets for manufacturing plants, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting to optimize financial performance and support strategic business objectives
Develops financial models to support business initiatives, expansion, and cost-saving strategies
Ensures internal controls are adhered to and company policies and external regulatory requirements followed
Partners with operations leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions and growth
Drives process improvement, productivity, and margin enhancement
Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; department budget
Qualification
Required
Knowledge and understanding of all disciplines of accounting and applicable laws and regulations; knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations on annual, quarterly and special event reporting
Ability to exercise considerable judgment in guiding divisional accounting team in planning, execution, and compliance about a variety of accounting practices
Good understanding of internal control systems and their use in obtaining reliable and timely financial records and information
Great communication skills include negotiation, influencing, and consensus building to interface with employees/customers at all levels within organization and external customers, vendors, and agencies
Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong computer literacy
Ability to forecast and develop budgets
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting
Preferred
CPA license active status preferred
Prior leadership and management experience in a large, complex organization strongly preferred; public accounting experience preferred
