Responsibilities
Responsible for accomplishing tasks assigned by project leader
Take a collaborative approach to meeting the goals and deadlines and seek out the necessary assistance. Work in an interdisciplinary team, ranging from other scientists to technicians and engineers
Carry out hands-on experimental work, operate equipment to test and validate concepts
Understand the material properties and physical characteristics of the materials being used for testing and experimentation and underlying science and concepts
Carry out own experiments, testing, analysis and validation, DOE and effectively communicate their results through written reports. Example of testing involved: failure analysis, lifetime studies, comparative performance evaluations using appropriate equipment and instrumentation
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
Mechanical aptitude and a desire to work on chemical processes involved in different aspects of the manufacturing of filters at an R&D/prototype scale to pilot and production scales
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Self-driven, motivated to learn and expected to be accountable for assigned tasks
The ability to utilize basic computer skills is essential including the use of word-processing, spreadsheets, project management software and databases
