Responsibilities
Assist in planning and delivering engaging reading and learning activities for school-age children in an evening family literacy program
Support the Program Manager with lesson planning and instructional activities
Serve as lead children's instructor in the absence of the program manager
Create an inviting, creative, and supportive classroom environment
Implement effective classroom management and positive behavior strategies
Maintain accurate student records and attendance data
Encourage family engagement and model effective instructional and behavior management strategies for parents
Qualification
Preferred
Experience working with school-age children
Experience working with diverse, multicultural, and multilingual populations
Bilingual skills
Sensitivity to the needs of adult learners and undereducated adults
Strong communication, organization, and planning skills
Excellent active listening and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Commitment to ongoing professional development
