Responsibilities

Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanisms including: hinges, latches, deployment systems, actuators, and release mechanisms
Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and procedures for flight and development hardware
Perform mechanical inspections, torque verification, alignment, and fit checks
Support functional testing, environmental testing, and troubleshooting of mechanisms
Document build steps, nonconformances, and test results in manufacturing and quality systems
Maintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardware
Work closely with engineers, quality, and other technicians to resolve issues and improve processes
Support rework, repair, and root-cause investigations as needed

Required

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Technical background in mechanical systems, aerospace manufacturing, or related field (trade school, military, or equivalent experience)
5+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical assembly
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T as well as assembly procedures and specifications
Proficient with hand tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches)

Preferred

8+ years of hands-on experience with mechanisms/components working on aerospace, spacecraft, satellite, launch vehicle or defense manufacturing
Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled assembly environments
4+ years of hands-on experience with mechanism testing (functional, deployment, or life-cycle testing)
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, or shifts as needed to support program milestones
