Responsibilities
Provide front-line support for desktop computers, printers, and related hardware
Maintain and manage technology infrastructure in a variety of settings across OSU Agriculture
Keep accurate and up-to-date computer asset inventories
Prepare and generate equipment quotes, assist with technology acquisition, and ensure proper disposal of outdated equipment in accordance with university policies
Train faculty and staff on software, hardware, and best practices to enhance productivity and tech proficiency
Qualification
Required
High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Bachelor's degree and one year experience or six years of related experience
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Valid Drivers License. Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties. Reimbursement for official travel
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: Experience and working knowledge of Windows OS and Mac OS and a working knowledge of a Windows Active Directory and Group Policies
Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software failure analysis and problem remediation
Proficient knowledge of computer hardware and driver installation, printer and scanner hardware configuration, driver installation, mapping, repair and maintenance
Knowledge of non-server based backup systems, WIFI systems, information security practices and security threats, malware and malware protection, antivirus, firewalls, user training
Ability to assist faculty and staff in computer hardware and software purchases or procurement while making decisions based on cost efficiency, functionality, and long-term use
Ability to teach and instruct faculty and staff in basic computer and software usage
Preferred
Bachelor's Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area
10 years related experience or master's degree and 8 years related experience
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: ITIL, CompTia A+ Certified Computer Technician, CompTia Network+ Certification, or similar
