Senior Contract Negotiator

The Senior Contract Negotiator will manage contractual risks and support healthcare research partnerships by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, negotiate, and execute a broad range of contracts, amendments, and legal documents for client and third-party engagements
Partner with research and operations teams during proposal development to identify contractual, data protection, and business risks and provide practical guidance
Advise project teams throughout delivery on contract interpretation, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation strategies
Serve as a strategic advisor, identifying issues that require escalation and working with senior leadership and the Office of Legal and Regulatory Affairs on resolution strategies
Maintain contractual and financial records within enterprise systems to ensure accurate documentation and audit readiness
Respond to client and vendor inquiries, providing timely and professional contractual support
Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and responses
Contribute to continuous improvement by maintaining and refining standard contract templates, clauses, and negotiation playbooks

Required

Juris Doctor
Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or eligibility for admission and intent to sit for the next available bar examination
3 years of directly related commercial contract or commercial counsel experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO, or relevant experience
Solid understanding of contracting principles and commercial business practices
Experience with contract negotiation and administration
Well-developed analytical thinking, risk analysis, negotiation and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with co-workers, project staff, clients, and suppliers
Ability to quickly learn and apply company policies and procedures
Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow tasks through to completion
Ability to work independently and be accountable for work product and results
