Research Lab Tech I
Brigham and Women's Hospital is a not-for-profit organization supporting patient care and research. They are seeking a Research Lab Tech I to conduct routine experiments and analyze data under the supervision of a Principal Investigator, contributing to cancer research and therapy development.

Responsibilities
Executes cell culture experiments
Mouse colony management
Administering therapeutic agents in vivo
Utilizing basic biochemical, molecular biology and imaging techniques to assess efficacy and elucidate mechanisms of action (western blotting, quantitative PCR, cloning, CRISPR editing, possibly ChiP-seq, RNA-seq)
Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine tests following established methodologies
Routine tests may include evaluation of protein expression levels by Western Blot, or gene expression by qRT-PCR
Prepares and maintains tissue cultures
Assists with mouse experiments and husbandry
Record data, summarizes, and analyzes results using basic statistics
Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment
Maintains supplies inventory in accordance with departmental procedures
Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor
All other duties, as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
Prior laboratory experience, either through academic coursework, internships, or employment 1-2 years preferred
Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and instruments used in research experiments
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and scientific software tools
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey experimental procedures, results, and challenges
B.S. in a biological or chemical science required
Good organizational skills, detail oriented
Sound degree of computer literacy
Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics
Ability to perform a variety of routine tests and prioritize work
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to demonstrate professionalism
Excellent organization skills, detail oriented
Interested in working with mice
Ability to methodically record data and analyze using basic statistics
Ability to multi-task and establish daily priorities
Passion for science
Preferred
Prior laboratory experience, either through academic coursework, internships, or employment 1-2 years preferred
New graduate with relevant course or project work recommended but not required
Some experience with mice and tissue culture and/or molecular techniques is preferred
