Employee Relations Director

Tucker Parker Smith Group (TPS Group) is partnering with a global biopharmaceutical organization focused on developing innovative therapies for serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. The Director, Employee Relations will lead the execution of the enterprise-wide Employee Relations strategy across U.S. locations, providing strategic and hands-on leadership and expert guidance on complex employee relations matters.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee employee relations processes to support effective conflict resolution, investigations, and problem-solving across the organization
Conduct and oversee employee relations cases, including concerns, grievances, and fact-finding investigations, ensuring appropriate due diligence and policy adherence
Partner closely with People Partners, Legal, Compliance, and Payroll to ensure consistent, compliant, and timely resolution of ER matters
Provide strategic and practical guidance to managers at all levels on employee behavior, performance management, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes
Identify patterns and recurring ER issues and work proactively with leaders to prevent future risk through coaching, training, and policy application
Stay attuned to organizational and operational changes to anticipate ER risks and develop proactive mitigation plans
Ensure accurate, confidential documentation and tracking of all ER cases through resolution or handoff to Strategic Business Partners
Apply deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws to advise leaders and ensure compliance
Support the development and continuous improvement of people policies, procedures, and manager toolkits
Provide expertise in alternative dispute resolution, including workplace mediation
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law, case law, and legislative changes and apply insights to ER strategy and practice

Required

Minimum 10 years of experience in Employee Relations
Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment and labor laws
Demonstrated experience handling complex, sensitive ER cases with sound judgment and discretion
Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to remain calm, tactful, and persuasive in high-stakes or confrontational situations
Strong writing and documentation skills
Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment
