Computer Operator & Business Process Automation Analyst I
Austin Bank is seeking a Computer Operator & Business Process Automation Analyst I to operate and monitor computer equipment and programs in the Data Processing Department. The role involves maintaining workflows, developing automation tasks to improve efficiency, and collaborating with other departments.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain technical knowledge of multiple independent business systems and processes used by the team, and cross train with department members to ensure coverage and business continuity
Perform routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals
Complete checklist in a timely manner, with consistency, and without errors, attending to detail, which is critical
Loads peripheral equipment such as tapes and printer paper for operating runs
Establishes rapport with branch contacts. Assists with research and corrects processing errors when applicable
Capable of establishing and maintaining a schedule that balances the needs of the bank for program operation and maintenance of automated tasks
Analyzes business processes and can accurately identify where processes can be improved by process automation or changes in business procedures
Capable of analyzing various business problems without an established solution and must be able to develop and articulate ways to solve them in a satisfactory manner
Must be able to maintain software updates and upgrades for various systems used for this job. Systems include, but are not limited to Cognos Analytics, Fortra Automate, and others as determined by business needs
Must have good working knowledge of Virtual Machine Environments and how to use them for process automation
Maintain knowledge of Information Security and automation best practices
Develop, test and deploy automation solutions for multiple departments, and maintains those solutions as needed
Writes and delivers reports on a periodic basis for management
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, as well as helping to establish new instructions and guidelines as needed, and a variety of other tasks
Manages various special projects assigned by management without the need for significant direct management. Must be able to analyze and develop solutions to business problems as they arise
Maintains current knowledge of technological developments as related to areas of responsibility. These areas include may include but are not limited to process automation, information security best practices and more as needed
Works under the supervision of and reports to Data Processing Manager
Exercises independent thought and judgment
Reads and follows programming logic
Applies basic troubleshooting skills when issues arise, applies any known fix(es) or contacts technical support, and then the operator stays until the problem is resolved
Develops and maintains basic automation solutions using approved tools and frameworks under guidance from senior developers or leads
Performs process documentation, data validation, and test execution; assists with user acceptance testing (UAT) and production support activities
Follows established development standards, security controls, and change management procedures; escalates risks and issues appropriately
Supports existing automations by monitoring process performance, investigating routine failures, and applying predefined fixes
Builds foundational knowledge of banking operations, regulatory considerations, and internal control requirements impacting automated processes
Exhibits superior customer service as an Austin Bank team member. Demonstrates high quality relationship building techniques to ensure the customer receives the best possible solution to his banking and financial needs. Helps promote a loyal relationship between the customer and Austin Bank
Participates in developing a teamwork atmosphere with coworkers as part of department or branch location by attending meetings, participating in discussions, treating coworkers with respect and courtesy, and contributing to departmental goals
Has a responsibility to stay abreast of company communications by reading publications, announcements and company e-mails, etc

Develop personal skills and capabilities through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval

Reports to work regularly and promptly. Works flexible hours to accommodate shift work as necessary, as well as working late to finish a task. Works some weekends as needed
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, community involvement and in-service meetings, etc
Maintains established department and Bank policies, procedures and objectives and quality assurance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree; 1 - 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must maintain a good understanding of processes and developed workflows
