Senior Solutions Architect
Stratton Royce is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with Duck Creek experience to design and document technical solutions for insurance platforms. The role involves leading policy and billing architecture initiatives, collaborating with teams to define architecture patterns, and managing development teams during solution implementation.
Responsibilities
Design and document technical solutions that meet business, operational, and security requirements for insurance platforms and applications
Serve as the policy and billing architecture lead for key initiatives, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and best practices
Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and development teams to define policy and billing architecture patterns and guide solution delivery
Manage development teams and provide hands-on support during solution implementation, including design reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Evaluate and recommend third-party tools, platforms, and technologies based on solution needs
Ensure solutions are compliant with regulatory and security standards relevant to the P&C insurance industry
Contribute to the continuous improvement of solution architecture frameworks and reusable patterns
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered
Minimum of 12 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in a solution architecture role and 3 years of people management experience
Minimum of 3 years in P&C insurance systems experience
Proven experience designing solutions using APIs, microservices, cloud technologies (e.g., Azure or AWS), and modern integration patterns
Firm understanding of modern multi-tenant web applications and microservice and serverless architecture
Deep understanding of system integration, data modeling, application security, and performance considerations
Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work across business and technical teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across business and technical audiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members in other departments
Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Preferred
Proficiency in implementing insurance management applications using technologies and platforms such as Duck Creek Policy, Billing, and Claims is desired
Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
Familiarity with architecture tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx EA) and documentation standards
Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues
