True Environmental is a leading environmental and engineering services consulting firm. They are seeking an Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist I to lead project and field work, including Environmental Site Assessments and preparation of Remedial Action Workplans in the NYC area.

Responsibilities

Complete site investigations to determine the nature and extent of contaminated soil, soil vapor, sediment, groundwater, and other media on a variety of sites, including public (parks, schools/universities, transit-related), residential, industrial, commercial, and private
Complete Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation, from preparation of workplans, conducting field work, writing summary reports, and final remedial documents
Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation
The candidate will assist with training entry level staff
Field work will include oversight of subcontractors, including drillers and other laborers during soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, test pit installation, excavation activities, and remedial construction activities; and sampling various media including soil, groundwater, sediment, soil vapor, and air
Perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527, supervise junior staff, and perform peer reviews of same
Prepare summary reports including reviewing laboratory analytical data; interpreting and tabulating data and preparing tables; soil boring logs; figures; and text
Provide environmental construction field management, such as community air monitoring, soil management, remedial construction oversight, and more

Required

At least 2 years of experience in environmental engineering, science, or geology
Strong interpersonal and writing skills
Ability to lead project and field work, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments/Investigations
Experience in preparation of Remedial Action Workplans
Ability to complete site investigations to determine the nature and extent of contaminated soil, soil vapor, sediment, groundwater, and other media
Experience in preparing technical reports, specifications, and plans
Ability to assist with training entry level staff
Experience in field work oversight of subcontractors during soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, test pit installation, excavation activities, and remedial construction activities
Ability to perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527

Preferred
