5+ years expSoTalent is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead payroll operations for their client. This role is responsible for overseeing daily payroll activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting staff development within a multi-company, multi-state environment.

Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end payroll processing, including garnishments, union deductions, special payments, and regular pay cycles
Ensure accurate employee data entry, secure file maintenance, and compliance with established policies
Manage payroll closes, quarterly and year‑end tax reporting, and required reconciliations
Generate ad hoc payroll reports using Cognos and other reporting tools
Train, supervise, and develop payroll staff, ensuring consistent standards and performance
Partner with HR on evaluations, coaching, corrective actions, and employee relations matters
Provide payroll insights and reporting to leadership as needed
Ability to work on Saturdays as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
5+ years of in‑house payroll experience across multiple companies and states
2+ years managing union deductions and remittances
2+ years of supervisory experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Clear and confident communication skills
Preferred
Experience with Kronos, Workforce, or UltiPro is preferred
Bilingual abilities are a plus
