Responsibilities

Primary legal support for hospitals located in South Carolina and associated integration efforts
Legal support for physician practices located in South Carolina
Create an environment that supports and respects diversity to promote creative problem solving

Responsible for helping to achieve goals defined by People & Culture and Novant Health leadership. Constantly monitor progress and metrics toward meeting defined goals
Supports growth, development of initiatives, and overall performance of strategy. Demonstrates dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of stakeholders
Work alongside team members to monitor and evolve practices for continuous process improvement
Assist with specialized legal areas such as joint ventures, ambulatory surgery centers and other market/specialty specific programs and strategic partnerships
Develop policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the [business?]
Provides reliable and well-researched advice on all manner of matters
Advises on specific healthcare issues such as HIPAA Privacy Rule, the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback statute, regulatory and confidentiality issues
Reviews and prepares agreements and contracts
Assists in the development of new policies, procedures and forms for the organization
Maintains professional competency, according to department policies, procedures, and protocols

Required

High School Diploma or GED, required
Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, required
Five year Law experience, preferably in Corporate, Tax or Litigation with a focus on health care transactions, required
Active license to practice law, in good standing with jurisdiction in which licensed, required
Operational Excellence: Exceptionally strong attention to project deadlines and details; broad-based experience to ensure organizational growth and advancement
Executive presence: Has the ability to navigate and communicate effectively at a high level with top executives of the organization to collaborate and share ideas on a variety of items

Problem Solving: Strong analytical, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
